DP82127RP1 - EBC Racing Front RPX Brake Pads - Audi S3 8V & Volkswagen Golf MK7 GTI/R.

EBC - RP-1™ Racing Brake Pads to fit MQB Volkswagen, Audi & SKODA vehicles fitted with 340mm front rotors. Common vehicles include Audi 8V S3 and Volkswagen Golf MK7 GTI PP, GTI TCR, GTI 40 years and Golf MK7R. Will fit other MQB/MQB EVO vehicles.

EBC Brakes Racing’s dedicated motorsport pad RP-1™ pairs high-performance with unprecedented modulation and control, resulting in a track pad that feels uniquely different to the competition and allows drivers to extract every last tenth from each and every braking zone.

EBC Racing's RP‑1 compound is an ultra‑high performance track and race pad designed for high performance vehicles driven hard on track. RP‑1 has a very stable friction coefficient of 0.45μ up to and beyond 750℃, making it an excellent performer for even the most demanding vehicle applications.

Due to its relatively high friction coefficient, RP‑1 is not Reg 90 homologated for road use within Europe and is therefore illegal for use on the public road. Unlike some other race pads on the market, RP‑1 offers a usable cold friction of 0.35μ below 100℃ meaning it can be safely used as a road pad for non‑European markets where Reg 90 homologation is not mandatory. At 100℃ the friction gently climbs to 0.45μ and stays there up to and beyond the designed upper working temperature range of 750℃.

RP‑1 boasts good pad life but the unique characteristic of RP‑1 is that it boasts exceptionally low disc wear, lower than virtually all other competitor race materials tested by EBC Racing. RP‑1 has a progressive pedal feel with unrivalled modulation. RP‑1 does not have the snatchy pedal feel or high levels of noise often associated with other race pads on the market.

Compared to EBC Racing's other track pad RP‑X, RP‑1 has a 25% reduction in friction coefficient across its working temperature range making RP‑1 the more suitable choice for light‑medium weight cars, cars with non EBC Big Brake Kits fitted, or vehicles with no ABS. For heavy or inherently under‑servoed vehicles which suit a very aggressive pad, EBC Racing's other track material RP‑X may be preferable.

Unprecedented Modulation & Control

Designed for vehicles driven hard on track, RP-1™ possesses a moderately high friction level of 0.45 between 100 – 750°C (200 – 1400°F). The more progressive response characteristic of RP-1™ makes it well suited for inherently ‘over-servoed’ vehicles where a softer pad material is desirable to allow greater finesse when on the brakes. RP-1™ also works superbly when used with many competitors (non-EBC) Big Brake Kits, where the more progressive pad response helps to negate the over-servoed sensation often experienced after fitment of larger diameter brake discs and calipers with large piston displacements. EBC Racing would like to emphasise that it is not a case of RP-1™ being ‘less good’ than RP-X™, rather it is ‘different’ and designed to provide a distinctly different response characteristic (less aggressive bite) which some drivers may prefer. Service & Maintenance Guide

Minor Service - Oil Service

Every 10k is a minor service - oil and filter. Do not follow the factory 15K and go 7k for tuned vehicles. Oil is cheap, engines are not!

Intermediate Service

Every 30k is an intermediate service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, brake fluid flush, remote batteries.

Major Service

Every 60k is a major service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, remote batteries, brake fluid flush, fuel filter, DSG gearbox oil and filter (unless automatic, manual, tiptronic or multitronic), spark plugs and haldex oil.

Additional: Water pump & timing belt and poly belt on belt driven engines should be done every 60k.

Intermediate Service

Every 90k is another intermediate service - same as 30k plus a poly belt / accessory belt.
