Always replace your water pump and thermostat together.

Fits most MQB Audi 8V A3/S3/TT/TTS, Volkswagen Golf GTI/R/Tiguan/Passat (EA888 Gen 3) also fits MLB platform engines - MQB/MLB 1.8 TSI & 2.0 TSI.

The water pump keeps the coolant in your car flowing, thus keeping your engine at the correct operating temperature.  If your pump stops working, your engine could overheat causing a lot of expensive damage such as piston ring failure and blown head gaskets.

Check your MQB/MLB vehicle for coolant loss regularly and when it is dropping, replace your water pump. It is common for the factory pump and thermostat to fail within the first 100,000 kms.

Fits MQB and MLB platform vehicles such as MK7, 8S, 8V, B8.5 & B9.

Service & Maintenance Guide

Minor Service - Oil Service

Every 10k is a minor service - oil and filter. Do not follow the factory 15K and go 7k for tuned vehicles. Oil is cheap, engines are not!

Intermediate Service

Every 30k is an intermediate service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, brake fluid flush, remote batteries.

Major Service

Every 60k is a major service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, remote batteries, brake fluid flush, fuel filter, DSG gearbox oil and filter (unless automatic, manual, tiptronic or multitronic), spark plugs and haldex oil.

Additional: Water pump & timing belt and poly belt on belt driven engines should be done every 60k.

Intermediate Service

Every 90k is another intermediate service - same as 30k plus a poly belt / accessory belt.

Minor Service - Oil Service

Every 10k is a minor service - oil and filter. Do not follow the factory 15K and go 7k for tuned vehicles. Oil is cheap, engines are not!

Intermediate Service

Every 30k is an intermediate service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, brake fluid flush, remote batteries.

Major Service

Every 60k is a major service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, remote batteries, brake fluid flush, fuel filter, DSG gearbox oil and filter (unless automatic, manual, tiptronic or multitronic), spark plugs and haldex oil.

Additional: Water pump & timing belt and poly belt on belt driven engines should be done every 60k.

Intermediate Service

Every 90k is another intermediate service - same as 30k plus a poly belt / accessory belt.

Replace Haldex fluid every 30k rather than 60k, Gearbox oil change at 40k for DSG is advised. Front and rear differential oils are "longlife" but replace every 60k to be safe.
