NEW AND IMPROVED! Why? Even though we were already dominating the market with the most engineered and built shifter available for the B6/B7 S4 and RS4, in true JHM style we knew we could make it just that tiny bit better. After months of R&D we made some minor revisions to the shaft that really aid in adjustment. Why would we do this? There was a debate about the degree of difficulty for the adjustment of Reverse and 1st-2nd, some people said it was easy and some said it was hard. So we spent the last several months making some small revisions to make it easier for everyone without changing our superior shifting quality. B6/B7 S4/RS4 Solid Shifter, Linkage & Bushing

 

New JHM Steel shaft, JHM solid pivot assembly, Tig Welded Steel lower link, Delrin Bushings, New pushdown reverse springs (stock, medium and stiff), 4 bushings to allow more clearance in the shifter box for the most throw reduction possible and all other hardware. Retains stock shifter knob. Instructions are not included with the package, just use the video and document links below and watch prior to installing.

 

COMES COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED (retains pushdown reverse) Ready to be installed into your factory base.

 

B6/B7 S4/RS4 Solid Shifter 

 

Our B6/B7 S4 and RS4 specific shifter is configured as follows. 1/2" shorter knob height and 40% and 25% reduction settings (you adjust as needed, ships in the most popular 40% setting). See this pic for more info regarding the adjustment -->HERE

Additional pushdown reverse springs included for those aggressive drivers that have the tendency to accidentally push the shifter down while shifting. Comes assembled with the soft spring (plain) and comes with a medium (silver) and stiff (gold) spring to taylor to your liking.

B6/B7 S4/RS4 Solid Shifter, Linkage & Bushing

 

If you desire the ultimate in shifting, the JH Motorsports B6/B7 S4 and RS4 Solid Linkage Upgrade is the perfect solution. This linkage upgrade replaces the OEM rubber/plastic socket assembly with a steel spherical bearing (similar to what the JHM Solid Shifter does for the OEM shifter box). This will give you a full mechanical race car feel, and eliminates sloppiness allowing you to optimize shifts on the street or at the track. The linkage is most purposeful when used with the JHM Solid Shifter and the JHM Delrin Shifter Stabilizer Bushing, however these parts will compliment any SS kit, including stock shifters.

 

To completely upgrade your stock shifting components for the best possible shifts, make sure to add our Solid Short Throw Shifter and the Solid Stabilizer Bushing to your order if you don't already have them.

 

B6/B7 S4/RS4 Solid Shifter, Linkage & Bushing

 


INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING - JHM Modified OEM shift shaft link (Updated OEM version with weight to aid in shifting ease and performance) ($80 from dealer), JHM Modified Steel Spherical bearing, stainless steel spacers, all hardware, loctite and synthetic grease.

 

(This linkage is located at the transmission and is separate from our shifter) This linkage fits all B6/B7 S4 and RS4 6-speeds. The removal of the linkage rod is time consuming and is easiest done when doing a clutch replacement or downpipe replacement. It can be done without either of those, but to save on labor it is best done when performing one of those mods or jobs.

 

COMES AS A COMPLETE DO IT YOURSELF KIT Only some cutting is required to allow proper clearance.

NOTE: Some cutting of your OEM linkage rod is required, other than that, this is a full bolt in kit.

NOTE: This bushing will transfer more noise and vibration to your shifter and shifter box vs. the stock rubber bushing. This is what gives you the enhanced feel and confidence when shifting. This is recommended for serious enthusiasts only; who want to fully compliment their JHM solid short throw shifter and linkage upgrade and want their car to shift as precise as possible. 

A back order product means we do not have this in our local warehouse. We will have to 'back order' this in for you. This can take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. Popular items can go on back order but are often restocked in a short time such as 1 week.

Service & Maintenance Guide

Minor Service - Oil Service

Every 10k is a minor service - oil and filter. Do not follow the factory 15K and go 7k for tuned vehicles. Oil is cheap, engines are not!

Intermediate Service

Every 30k is an intermediate service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, brake fluid flush, remote batteries.

Major Service

Every 60k is a major service - oil and filter, cabin filter & air filter, remote batteries, brake fluid flush, fuel filter, DSG gearbox oil and filter (unless automatic, manual, tiptronic or multitronic), spark plugs and haldex oil.

Additional: Water pump & timing belt and poly belt on belt driven engines should be done every 60k.

Intermediate Service

Every 90k is another intermediate service - same as 30k plus a poly belt / accessory belt.

Minor Service - Oil Service

Replace Haldex fluid every 30k rather than 60k, Gearbox oil change at 40k for DSG is advised. Front and rear differential oils are "longlife" but replace every 60k to be safe.
